Visibility at The Touch of a Button
Hüttenes-Albertus is one of the leading manufacturers of chemical products for the foundry industry worldwide, specializing in the automotive and wind power industry, mechanical engineering as well as railway and shipping infrastructure. The Hüttenes-Albertus Group operates in more than 30 countries on all continents. It is represented by 26 majority-owned and 7 minority-owned businesses and has a consolidated turnover of around EUR 430 million, employing close to 2,000 people worldwide.
International business placed growing demands on Hüttenes-Albertus and led to a drastic increase in the number of tasks faced by the central treasury. Due to low staffing capacities and a lack of software solutions, the department decided to implement a treasury management system. What was needed was a system that would allow for global, group-wide visibility for reporting and regarding currency exposure as well as for business management and EMIR-compliant reporting with minimum effort. At the same time, the company wished to introduce a tool for global liquidity planning and to use a fully integrated payment solution.
The Solution: Analysis, definition, and off to a flying start!
A treasury policy for the Hüttenes-Albertus Group was drawn up in order to prepare for the implementation of tm5. The newly structured and streamlined processes included in this policy were applied centrally and tm5 aligned accordingly before being implemented. Communication channels needed for payments were introduced one at a time, existing contracts entered into TT, the integrated EMIR interface activated and 360T connected as trading network. The centralized overview of trading operations and the integration of liquidity planning enables the group’s treasury to promptly interpret FX exposure. The BELLIN SWIFT Service guarantees the necessary transparency when it comes to the group’s global financial status. With tm5, Hüttenes-Albertus now possesses a mighty tool that provides a group-wide overview of all processes with very low staffing requirements: transparency at the touch of a button.
